Masterpiece London, one of the top international cross-collecting fair for art, antiques, and designs had art lovers thronging the venue from all over the world to experience one of the most unique international fairs between 30 June to 6 July at the Royal Hospital in Chelsea, London. Art Culture Festival was there to cover the event.
This seventh edition of Masterpiece London brought art from antiquity to present day. Creating an unparalleled event for collectors and leaving an impact on the visitors of their interest. It gave a unique opportunity to the visitors to buy the best pieces available across multiple disciplines in the current market.
Art history spanning 5000 years was showcased under one roof — through excellent source of painted furniture, spectacular jewellery, 20th century design, lighting, accessories and named-design furniture, works of art and craft of every kind and excellent mirrors etc. from the Antiques & Philately industry. 154 exhibitors from across the globe participated in the fair, including Modernity from Stockholm, London’s Theo Fennell LTD and Axel Vervoordt from Brussels.
The other artworks on view included masterpieces by Claude Monet, Anthony van Dyke, John Constable, and Lucio Fontana. These works were on sale alongside fine jewelry and design items—a highlight this year was a pink sapphire broach by fine art jewelry legend, Jar, that sold in the first couple of hours of VIP day for an undisclosed sum in the seven figures.
A notable presence from India in the fair was that of DAG Modern. The Gallery now boasts of spaces in New Delhi, Mumbai and New York. It presented a wide selection of Modern Indian art.
