Indian Ceramics Triennale Hosts a Special Curtain Raiser of Common Ground in Mumbai | Evolving Clay Practices

Indian Ceramics Triennale, initiated by the Contemporary Clay Foundation, is hosting a curtain raiser event titled, ‘Evolving Clay Practices’ – A Prelude to Common Ground, in partnership with the Dr Bhau Daji Lad Museum and Avid Learning, set to take place at Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum, Byculla East, Mumbai on the 28th November, 2023 from 4:30 PM – 7:30 PM.

This special evening aims to highlight the programming of the forthcoming second edition of Indian Ceramics Triennale, scheduled to commence on January 19, 2024, at Arthshila in Okhla, New Delhi.

The spectacle will commence with the Managing Trustee and Honorary Director, Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum, Tasneem Zakaria Mehta’s welcome address, followed by CEO, Avid Learning and Curator, Royal Opera House, Asad Lalljee making the opening remarks. Tasneem Zakaria Mehta will be delivering a keynote address introducing the attendees to the rich history of Bombay School Pottery, from the museum’s collection. Co-Curators of the Indian Ceramics Triennale 2024, Anjani Khanna and Sharbani Das Gupta, will provide a glimpse of the programming of the forthcoming edition, accompanied by a captivating film showcasing the works of some of the participating artists followed by a stimulating conversation between the artists and Editor, Art India Magazine Abhay Sardesai. This dialogue will expand globally with the participation of British practitioners from the Ceramics Research Centre at the University of Westminster who will be in conversation with Artist and Co-Curator, Indian Ceramics Triennale 2024 Madhvi Subrahmanian.
