Delhi Art Week Returns with its Third Edition in the Capital from 1st December to 10th December 2023

Delhi Art Week is back with its 3rd edition in the capital from December 1, 2023 to December 10, 2023. With 4 Art Zones, more than 20 galleries and more than 4 institutions, Delhi Art Week promises to elevate the contemporary and modern art scene in Delhi with the exhibitions across diverse mediums and themes. Now in its third edition, Delhi Art Week continues to build upon the momentum of its previous iterations, highlighting the rich and diverse visual arts scene in the capital city for patrons, art enthusiasts, and casual visitors. DAW has also joined hands with partnering institutes such as NGMA, Bikaner House, The Partition Museum and Dara Shukoh Cultural Hub, ST+ART, KNMA, Alliance Francaise de Delhi and Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan, and more to design a range of diverse programming to engage with the audience.

“Each successive edition of Delhi Art Week offers an opportunity for us to address various challenges related to raising awareness about Indian art within our city. By collaborating as a community of galleries and institutions and partnering with organizations such as the Indian Art Fair and the NGMA, the third edition of Delhi Art Week aims to provide exposure and convenient access to the very best of modern and contemporary art.”

In addition to galleries and institutions showcasing their programs physically within their own spaces, Delhi Art Week 2023 features several events which are aimed at engaging meaningfully with the audience. Some of the key highlights of this edition are:

I) Book Launches:

· NGMA hosts “Jatin Das – A Retrospective: 1963-2023” book launch on December 2, featuring an artist conversation with Nandita Das.

· DAG’s “Iconic Masterpieces of Indian Modern Art” exhibition on December 1 includes a book launch and introduction.

II) Talks:

· “The Heart of Art in Delhi” talk series from December 9 to 10 at NGMA in collaboration with India Art Fair explores various aspects of the art world.

· KNMA and DAW to host “Museums of 21st Century” talk on December 2.

· Jatin Das in conversation with Ina Puri on December 2.

· DAG’s panel discussion on “Indian Perspectives of the Three Durbars” on December 9.

III) Walkthroughs:

· St+Art offers mesmerizing walks at Lodhi Art District on December 2 and 9.

· Gallery Espace’s walkthrough of Karl Antao’s “Rooted Spine” on December 2.

· Art Alive’s walkthrough of “Immersive Infinities” with curator Kristine Michael on December 5.

IV) Film Screenings:

· NGMA’s film series on December 9 and 10 delves into the history of contemporary art, featuring films on artists like Amrita Sher-Gill and Rabindranath Tagore.
