In continuation of the series of public lectures, we have the honor to host RW Bro. Dr. Christopher Earnshaw, who studied calligraphy at Daito Bunka University with Naruse Eizan and Aoyama San’u. Later, he got Qualified in International Marketing BA in Japanese and Chinese, London University SOAS. He decided to re-educate himself by studying for a doctorate in neuroscience with a qualification in emergency medicine at the US Naval Hospital at Yokosuka. He mastered cooking at Cordon Bleu in Tokyo as well as master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology including Comparative Religion.
One of the challenges has been to learn to play all Bach’s six Suites for Unaccompanied ‘Cello. In which he has got as far as number four, many times. The way to be successful in life is to have a central belief that supports you in good times and bad. For him that has been the study of the philosophy of Mencius. So, it was a natural extension of his studies to join a Dao temple in 2016. Understanding the teachings of the Dao have helped better understand Mencius. Then he qualified as a Biomagnet Therapist and then, as a Grief Counselor completing PhD in Neuroscience via Tokai Medical University. Bro. Chris is qualified as a Professor of Calligraphy. Currently, besides writing, he runs a small medical device start-up and the suicide prevention NPO Life Management and some weekends holds a Biomagnet clinic at his office.
