Gallery Espace presents Akshay Raj Singh Rathore’s solo exhibition un-practiced frugality. The exhibition will showcase around 20 works on paper by Akshay Raj Singh Rathore taking into account his personal journey over the last four years. The artist moved to France from India around four years ago and that was the period when he witnessed a lot of societal turmoil both in Europe and back at home in India. The exhibition showcases varied yet a coherent body of works, unfolding a narrative defining the artist’s thought process and practice. Akshay’s artistic practice has evolved over the years; which includes sculpture, installation, performance, photography, drawing, and animation. In the current exhibition his style has moved from very defined forms to abstraction, which resonanate the past in the present and address the complexity of cross-cultural relations.
