Born and brought up in New Delhi, Shipra Rohatgi-Dutta is a fourth generation calligrapher from India, who uses stone, walls, canvases, T-shirts, sarees (Satya Paul), paper among others as her medium for Calligraphy. Her Great grandfather worked at Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar Court as a “Khatta” Accounts writer. And in the modern day, she too has worked with very high profile people throughout the country.
A DU Graduate in BOC, Calligraphy, she counts the art as her family work. She has also done a Fine Arts Course from Triveni Kala Sangam (Two year Part time); 2 years Fashion Design course from JD Institute of Fashion Technology and 2 years Pattern making and Dress Design course from South Delhi Polytechnic for Women. The picturesque, Hauz Khas Village, New Delhi, has been her work-place, for more than 18 years now.

Exhibitions: For the enrichment of Mankind, at large, My ‘Kabir’ Collection (On Canvas) was displayed at Sri Aurobindo Society, New Delhi in August 2014. My artworks on Stone & Metal were a part of the Callifest 2014, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, The Bird project, Baroda-2016, The Khajuraho Dance Festival, 2016.
