Middle East’s leading international art fair Art Dubai returns with its 16thedition at Madinat Jumeirah from March 1-5, 2023. India is making its mark at Art Dubai with three galleries – Latitude 28, Shrine Empire and Experimenter presenting art works of Indian contemporary artists.

Latitude 28
The artworks represented by Delhi based gallery Latitude 28 at Art Dubai 2023 are the depiction of social identities of class, gender, and race produced through the dynamic push and pull of personal histories, matter and place. Memory and identity are important artefacts of this profound cultural exchange.
Latitude 28 brings together the works of Gopa Trivedi, Khadim Ali, Niyeti Chadha Kannal, Noor Ali Chagani, Shalina Vichitra, Sudipta Das, and Waswo X. Waswo. Artists from the Indian Subcontinent are increasingly delving into the possibilities of re-infusing traditional forms of art with new media, thus creating their own idioms which are at once post-colonialist and post-modernist. Some of these artists rework the evocativeness and stylization of miniature schools of painting to generate new socio-political discourses. Alluding to mythological/ historical narratives in the modern context, these artists locate their identities at the crux of historicity and contemporaneousness.
Shrine Empire
Delhi based gallery Shrine Empire is presenting a group show with artists Anoli Perera from Sri Lanka, Tayeba Begum Lipi from Bangladesh and Baaraan Ijlal from India
Experimenter
Kolkata based gallery Experimenter is exhibiting works of seven artists – Adip Dutta, Ayesha Sultana, Aziz Hazara, Praneet Soi. Radhika Khimji, Rathin Barman and Soumya Sankar Bose.
