A celebration of arts and craft took place at Tsutra, an exhibition celebrating the rich culture of Indian heritage and contemporary design. In an attempt to take fashion and craft to the next level, this year the exhibition added a new feather in its cap as ACF (Art Culture Festival) showcased table Art accessories in ceramics and Objet de Art by upcoming artists in a cultural context. The variety ranged from quirky pop-art coasters to hand-painted stone paper weights and earthy ceramic mugs. ACF aims to promote creativity and forms of art through both its online and offline spaces and the showcase at the exhibition was an extension of its vision. Like every year, “Sasha” and “Sanskar” presented Tsutra with a fresh new theme a mélange of craft, art and fashion at Alliance Francaise from 3rd – 5th September, 2017. Tsutra is primarily a collaboration between Roopa Mehta of Sasha Kolkata and Sonam Dubal of Sanskar creating a sustainable collection with modern craft techniques for the cosmopolitan woman of today. The eclectic collection comprised of stylish accessories like leather hand bags, dhokra jewellery, handwoven home textiles, recycled fabrics and Kantha work in interesting renditions.
