Magical Musicals & Coastal cuisine – Baarish, by Excurators, returns for Chapter 2 | 26th July 2025 | Travancore Palace, NewDelhi

After a phenomenal debut, Baarish returns, richer in sound, spirit, and storytelling. The first
edition saw an enthusiastic response, with seamless curation across music, food, and immersive
experiences. Excurators, the producer of the experience, is energised for what lies ahead this
monsoon.

“The first edition of Baarish has set the tone: immersive, heartfelt, and beautifully aligned across
music, food, and storytelling. As the curator and producer, I’m thrilled by the way our audience
embraced the experience. It reinforces what we set out to create: a cultural experience that
celebrates the monsoon as a feeling. Episode 2 is close to my heart. It’s the downpour month
when the rain truly takes over, and so does our imagination. This edition, hosted at Travancore
Palace, New Delhi, brings a rare blend of tradition and experimentation: from the musical
retelling of Nizamuddin Auliya and Amir Khusrau’s story with Rehmat-e-Nusrat and Eric
Chopra to the sensory Kerala-inspired culinary journey curated by Café Lota with Chef Arun
Kumar TR. The finale, which pays tribute to the late Mangey Khan, brings together the
legendary Barmer Boys and our own Baarish Ensemble in a soundscape that spans folk,
classical, and modular synth. The programming and installations are thoughtfully designed by
our collaborators at WIP Labs. Each Baarish is envisioned as a one-of-a-kind moment. My hope
is for this to become a seasonal tradition, where audiences come together to experience new art,
share stories, and build a community that celebrates culture in all its rain-soaked glory.”

– Minhal Hasan, Managing Director & Founder of Excurators.

Chapter 2 celebrates the peak of the rains, the time of the downpour, when the monsoon is in
full bloom. The experience will honour it with a range of multifaceted offerings.

Programming Highlights: 26th July 2025 | Travancore Palace, New Delhi | 6 PM
onwards

Immersive Arrival Experience
Guests will enter through a multisensory installation of sound, mist, and ambient visuals—an
atmospheric transition into the themes and mood of the evening.

Rehmat-e-Nusrat x Eric Chopra – Rang: The Musical
Delhi of the 13th and 14th centuries comes to life through the intertwined stories of Amir
Khusrau Dehlavi and his beloved pir, Nizamuddin Auliya. Blending qawwali and storytelling,
this performance is an ode to a multifaceted city that has been shaped by saints and seekers. As
Chopra of Itihãsology traces the histories that inspired Khusrau’s voice, Rehmat-e-Nusrat
channels it in soaring renditions of his verses: multilingual, syncretic, and saturated with love
for his spiritual guide and his city.

Feast on a Leaf – A Culinary Conversation
Chef Arun Kumar TR launched the first-ever food pop-up of Malayali food in Delhi and went on
to become a brand chef for the popular coastal cuisine restaurant, Zambar. He has won several
awards, including multiple food awards instituted by the Times of India, the Best South Indian
Chef award presented by the Indian Culinary Forum, and the Top Chef Award for Excellence in
South Indian /Coastal Cuisine by the Delhi Gourmet Club. At Baarish, in collaboration with Café
Lota, he presents a deep dive into Kerala’s monsoon cuisine. Alongside a tasting experience, he
shares insights from his new book Feast on My Leaf, exploring pre-Onam flavours and harvest
rituals.

Culinary Experience by Café Lota
A culinary journey, Monsoon by Cafe Lota, presents thoughtfully curated dishes inspired by the
flavours and ingredients of the monsoon season in Kerala. Infused with the essence of the rains,
each creation highlights regional specialties, fresh seasonal produce, and heartwarming tastes
that evoke the mood of Baarish.

Monsoon Mixes & Brewing Conversations

Curated cocktails, teas, and brews at our bar are designed to spark conversation and connection
— all under the rhythm of the rain.

The Finale: Baarish Ensemble x Barmer Boys Reunion

This performance is a tribute to the late Mangey Khan, the legendary voice of Rajasthani folk
and lead vocalist of the Barmer Boys. A year after his passing, the Barmer Boys return, carrying
forward the Manganiyar legacy. Created by W.I.P Labs & Excurators, the Baarish Ensemble is a
unique musical response to the monsoon, blending folk traditions with contemporary sounds.
Featuring Anirban Ghosh, Yusra Naqvi, Diyatom Deb, Nikhil Vasudevan, Pranay Verma,
Subhankar Chatterjee, and Vaibhav Batra, the ensemble reimagines folk-rooted music with
emotional and spiritual depth.
